Integration & Onboarding

What does a typical onboarding process look like, step by step?

Onboarding consists of a few straightforward steps:

  • Publisher account setup — takes just a few minutes. You get immediate access to the platform. You'll need a product feed in Google Merchant Center format (with an additional Supplier field).
  • Store integration — your IT team creates the server-to-server endpoints and places ad slots on the site. We do the first placements together to make sure everything kicks off smoothly.
  • Token and placement link generation in the MageAds platform — a few minutes.
  • Test campaign launch — timing depends on the number and types of placements.

What tends to cause friction at first launch? Product placement integration (e.g. showing a sponsored product in search results or a category listing) sometimes takes a bit more attention from the IT side. Our integration guide covers the common scenarios, but unusual store setups can occasionally need some extra troubleshooting time.

What do we need to do on our end to get ads running correctly?

The integration is well-documented in our guide — your IT team should have no trouble following it. It includes ready-to-use script examples. Full documentation here: https://mageads.com/docs/api/overview

Can we test the integration before going live?

Absolutely. We set up a test account for you that runs on our production environment — you can connect it to a staging version of your store. It's the exact same environment as production, so your tests are fully representative.

What can you test?

  • No-ad scenarios — simulate various cases: no budget, no active campaign, targeting that doesn't match.
  • No system response — the connection is tested as part of the endpoint integration described in the docs.
  • Different display scenarios — you can configure campaigns and placements freely within the test account.
